BNBSwap AML Policy
Effective date: September 24, 2026
BNBSwap uses a risk-based approach to transaction review for crypto-to-crypto exchange orders. The purpose of this policy is to explain when an order can require additional review, what information may be requested and what outcomes can follow without publishing internal screening thresholds.
An order that does not require routine identity verification can still be reviewed when risk indicators are present. BNBSwap does not make a universal no-KYC promise for every transaction or every situation.
Scope of the AML Policy
This policy applies to exchange activity processed through bnbswap.io and to information provided during a transaction review. It covers risk screening, possible escalation, prohibited or high-risk activity and communication with the user when additional review is required.
The policy does not turn BNBSwap into a public “AML checker” for arbitrary wallet addresses. Review is connected to the service's own exchange orders and operational risk controls.
Risk-Based Transaction Review
Crypto transactions can carry different levels of risk depending on the source of funds, blockchain exposure, transaction history and order context. BNBSwap can apply automated or manual review controls to determine whether an order can proceed normally or needs additional attention.
Risk-based review is intended to focus additional checks where they are relevant rather than requiring the same level of information for every order.
Information Considered During Review
BNBSwap can consider information that is available from the order, public blockchain data and information submitted by the user. The review can examine the consistency between the selected route and the actual transaction as well as high-level risk indicators associated with the funds.
Relevant categories can include:
- sanctions or restricted-party exposure;
- indicators associated with stolen or fraud-related funds;
- transactions linked to illicit or prohibited activity;
- unusual or inconsistent order information;
- high-risk blockchain exposure identified by risk controls;
- attempts to bypass service rules or provide misleading information;
- lawful requests or restrictions that affect the ability to process an order.
BNBSwap does not publish internal thresholds, scoring rules or vendor-specific detection logic because doing so could make abuse controls easier to evade.
When Additional Information May Be Requested
An order can require additional information when the available order and blockchain data are not sufficient to resolve a risk concern. The request should be limited to information relevant to the review.
Depending on the case, BNBSwap may ask for information that helps establish the transaction context, source of funds, relationship to a wallet or other details necessary to evaluate the order. Identity verification or KYC may be requested when the risk review requires it.
Providing information does not guarantee that an order will be approved. The purpose is to give the service enough context to make a risk decision.
KYC Is Not Automatically Required for Every Order
BNBSwap's order model does not imply that every eligible crypto-to-crypto exchange requires routine identity verification at the start. At the same time, the absence of routine KYC for an ordinary order does not prevent BNBSwap from requesting verification when a transaction is escalated.
This distinction keeps commercial no-account or streamlined-order language consistent with risk-based compliance controls. “No account” should not be interpreted as “no review under any circumstances.”
Prohibited and High-Risk Activity
BNBSwap is not intended to facilitate unlawful activity, sanctions evasion, fraud, theft, laundering of criminal proceeds or deliberate circumvention of transaction controls.
Orders can be refused or escalated when the transaction appears connected to prohibited activity, when required information is not provided or when processing the transaction would create an unacceptable legal, security or operational risk.
Possible Review Outcomes
A risk review can lead to different outcomes depending on the transaction and the information available. BNBSwap does not use one automatic outcome for every flagged order.
Possible outcomes include:
- the order continues without additional action;
- the order is held while more information is requested;
- additional identity or transaction-context verification is required;
- the route or order is refused or cancelled;
- funds are returned where operationally possible and appropriate for the case;
- access to the service is restricted for abusive or prohibited use.
Blockchain fees, network conditions or other technical limits can affect what is operationally possible after funds have already been sent.
Records and Privacy
Information generated during an AML or risk review can be handled for transaction review, abuse prevention, dispute resolution and response to lawful requests where applicable to the service. The exact handling of service-side information follows the BNBSwap Privacy Policy.
Public blockchain data remains independently visible on the relevant network and is not controlled by BNBSwap's data-retention process.
Compliance Contact
Questions about an active AML or transaction-review case can be sent to [email protected]. Include the order ID and transaction hash when available so the request can be matched to the correct order.
Do not send seed phrases, private keys or wallet passwords. Compliance review should rely on order, transaction and verification information rather than credentials that control a wallet.
FAQ
The questions below summarize how risk-based review, additional information requests and possible KYC escalation work. They do not publish internal screening thresholds or create a public wallet-checking service.
How does AML apply to cryptocurrency exchanges?
AML controls are used to identify and manage risks connected to illicit funds, sanctions exposure, fraud and other prohibited activity. For BNBSwap, those controls are applied through risk-based review of exchange orders and relevant blockchain or order information.
Is KYC mandatory for every crypto exchange?
Not every BNBSwap order necessarily requires routine identity verification at the start. KYC or additional information can still be requested when a transaction is escalated by risk-based review.
Does BNBSwap perform an AML check on every BEP20 wallet?
This policy does not create a public wallet-checking service for arbitrary addresses. Risk controls are connected to BNBSwap exchange orders and can use relevant public blockchain information as part of the review.
Can an order be delayed by AML review?
Yes. An order can be held while additional transaction context or verification is requested when risk indicators require review.
What happens if I do not provide requested information?
BNBSwap may be unable to continue processing the order when information necessary to resolve a risk concern is not provided. The available outcome depends on the transaction state, blockchain conditions and the specific review.
Can BNBSwap publish its AML screening thresholds?
No internal thresholds or scoring rules are published because those details could be used to bypass abuse controls. The policy instead explains the categories of risk and possible outcomes at a high level.
How do I contact compliance?
Email [email protected] and include the order ID and transaction hash when available. Do not include a seed phrase, private key or wallet password.
